Although Governance, Inc., was founded only 20 years ago, its roots date back almost 40 years with its founder's pioneering activities in public-private partnerships and economic development. Considered by some to be economists and by others negotiators, we provide a complete solution for government to find financial resources through non-conventional solutions. Sometimes the need is driven by basic finances - a shortfall in revenue creating pressures to cut personnel and services. Sometimes the need is driven by the more complex issue of job retention or growth - to satisfy political, societal and financial pressures. It is important to understand that Governance looks at every proposition from the perspective of fairness – both societal and financial. When dealing with the challenge of jobs and private sector investment, It is through this lens that we have been able to successfully craft agreements between government and companies that have saved literally tens of thousands of jobs – while delivering net-income enhancement to both government and private sector.
As a result, we have preserved manufacturing jobs – high wage, highly valued jobs that don’t require advanced classroom-gained skills – at the same time that there has been an accelerated flight of manufacturing jobs from the U.S. Of note, we have preserved them in “high-cost” states such as New York, Connecticut and California, as well as in “low-cost” states.
